Limits?

Okay, so we all know that species found in the fantasy genre have their own special things about them, such as fairies have the ability to fly, elves live longer than humans, and werewolves can only be killed by silver.
So, here's my question...seeing as I have a vampire character, how would that work? Based on myths, vampires can pretty much only be killed by a stake throught the heart (or some other means). How does that work here? I don't want to go around having a seemingly godly character that can only be killed by few means without permission (of course, the charcater does not go looking for trouble or fights, but still). Basically, I just want to know the limits when it comes to injuries or death for some races.

Well I'd say the basic limits of having a vampire character would be, the time of day they could go out.. the whole no sunlight thing, I - think - is a pretty general thing when it comes to all vampires. The stake to the heart would be another, as you stated. Garlic's a no-no.. that's just a down right stupid way to kill >_<;; I'd say holy water would be quite a good way of inflicting pain upon a vampire character. It could be made by a user who casts the 'bless' spell upon a vial of water..
Hmm.. that's all I can come up with right now. What do you think to those? Feel free to object to them.

Those sound like they would work. I'd also image that while it wouldn't kill a vampire, however, garlic would cause a bit of an allergic reactionXD.
